Resident Director Profiles: Get to Know GCU's Dorm Bosses

By Michael Ferraresi and Bob Romantic
GCU News Bureau

The fall semester marks the opening of two new residence halls on campus and the beginning of a new era for students who live at GCU.

Camelback and Sedona halls open to incoming students today. The two new dorms offer 1,288 beds. Next year, the comparable Chaparral and Saguaro halls will open – giving GCU seven residence halls, plus the North Rim Apartments.

As they check into their new homes and set up their “cribs,” students will also get to know the resident directors who oversee their residence halls.

RDs serve on the front lines of campus life, often mentoring students on anything from academics to moral decisions around living away from home for the first time. Consider RDs something of a liaison between students and the many resources at the University. They also oversee student resident assistants assigned to each floor, giving RDs – and the Student Life office – a clear line of communication to every student living on campus.

GCU Today conducted Q&As with the RDs to get a sense of what motivates them to serve students, to learn what they do for fun, and to understand what makes GCU dorm life unique. Click on each name to learn more about the individual RD:
