VITA Tax Preppers

The city of Phoenix is looking for volunteers

to offer free tax preparation help for low

to moderate income households. Tax

professionals can also earn continuing

education credits when volunteering. The

city will hold free IRS process-based tax law

training sessions from November to January

at various locations.

The city of Phoenix Earned Income Tax

Credit (EITC) campaign is in partnership

with the Internal Revenue Service VITA

program. Nationally, the EITC helped an

estimated 6.5 million people out of poverty,

including more than three million children.

Phoenix Neighborhood Patrol has long

supported the notion that involved residents

are the most effective crime fighters, reporting

suspicious activity as it occurs. This program

allows residents to become more actively

involved as partners in crime prevention. They

are the Phoenix Police Department’s “Eyes

and Ears!”
