The GCU College of Education is hosting the third annual ‘Lopes for Literacy Scholastic Book fair in the GCU Library from November 14 to 22. Hours are Monday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 4 p.m. Fair features a variety of new books and some classics as well. Email [email protected] for more information.

The Office of Career Services is proud to present its student worker of the month – Julie Sage. Sage is a senior biology major working in the GCU Fleming Library. She transferred to GCU from the University of Florida two years ago and started working in the Library right away. “I get to help students with research issues, answer reference questions and more,” says Sage. “Because I help students with research a lot, it has helped me in my own studies. It’s been a great help in preparing for medical research.”

The C.O.P.E. Coalition in Phoenix, Ariz. sponsored The Photovoice exhibit at the GCU Library, featuring the work of middle-school and high-school refugee students. The teens attended nine weeks of classes and took photos of the people and things in their new lives living in Phoenix. The students are from Nepal, Zimbabwe, Liberia, Tanzania and Ivory Coast.

Photographs taken by nine refugee teenagers involved in a collaborative community project are now on display at the GCU Library. The Photovoice exhibit features the work of middle-school and high-school students from the Canyon Corridor. The project involved TERROS Behavioral Health Services, the COPE Coalition, the Canyon Corridor Community Coalition, the International Rescue Committee and Mercy Housing.

The Grand Canyon University Library has some incredible new content for every academic subject, including 30 new databases covering expanded full text content for the Fine Arts, Education, Nursing, Health Sciences, Business, Social Sciences, Computing and more!
