Photos by David Kadlubowski GCU News Bureau More than 2,200 registered runners and walkers gathered on the Grand Canyon University campus for the 2018 Run to Fight Children’s Cancer. The event, the largest race in Arizona dedicated solely to pediatric cancer, featured a 5K and 10K, as well as the backbone of the event, the Cancer Survivors Walk. Run to Fight benefits the Children’s Cancer Network and Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

They gathered for a welcoming party, Glow Golf, a Habit for Humanity project, artistic painting instruction, a tailgate, a pep rally and the annual derby kart races.

GCU News Bureau Thunder turned the charm on high during a recent visit to Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. GCU News Bureau GCU debuted its new Softball Stadium Thursday night. Fans raised their cell phones to photograph the new facility, lined up for free hot dogs and took turns pitching balls at inflated backyard bullpens. Also, GCU swept Montana 6-2 and 5-2 in the season-opening doubleheader in front of a sellout crowd of 1,249 fans.
