The launch of the two new programs signifies Grand Canyon University’s re-emphasis on an academic commitment to training on science, technology, engineering and mathematics — also known as the STEM disciplines.

The new residence halls opening this fall at Grand Canyon University are just the beginning of a major phase of new dorm construction. On Thursday, GCU President and CEO Brian Mueller announced plans to build four six-story residence halls at the northwest corner of campus.

Grand Canyon University hired Dr. Perry Baker, the former dean of Arizona Christian University, to serve as assistant dean at the newly restructured College of Science, Engineering and Technology.
