Students become the teachers on engineering panel

It wasn’t long ago that Christian Clifton and Kylie Shaplin were GCU students listening to lectures, working in the engineering labs and sitting in on career talks. But recently, the alumni — Clifton graduated in 2019 and Shaplin in 2020 — found themselves in an unexpected position. Instead of listening to industry panelists, they WERE the industry panelists at a recent talk by Benchmark engineers, and this time students were listening to them.

CCOB opening launches busy spring events calendar

It’s been a big year so far, but there’s more to come in 2018-19. The spring semester will kick off with the grand opening of the new 150,000-plus-square foot Colangelo College of Business Building on Jan. 9 and will barrel forward through April and May with signature events such as the Canyon Challenge, Mr. GCU, the Theatre Department’s presentation of Holocaust drama “Who Will Carry the Word,” Serve the City in February, the Roadshow Tour at GCU Arena, basketball and much more. Leap to Teach Expo meets a need, conveniently

The Leap to Teach & Lead Career Expo and Networking Event, a collaborative effort by Grand Canyon University’s College of Education, Career IMPACT Center and Strategic Educational Alliances was mutually beneficial. “Lopes Leap to Teach is a win-win for both our students and the school districts,” said Dean of the COE, Dr. Kimberly LaPrade as she walked among dozens of employers and potential employees along the Promenade.
