Actor Talks to Students on Value of Strong Faith

Actor Stephen Baldwin was back on the GCU campus Tuesday morning, this time to speak about being a Christian in Hollywood. Having wrapped up the shooting of a comic short he was working on with producer Maria Yano and several COFAP students, Baldwin spoke at two different times at Ethington Theatre. “We wanted to invite Stephen here to talk about having a Christian worldview in Hollywood,” said Christian studies instructor Chip Lamca. “You don’t normally think of Christians in that setting, but they are there.”

Christian Studies Alums Hear From Two Speakers

Christian Studies alumni of GCU gathered Thursday evening for the first of what is hoped will be monthly meetings designed to build relationships and a stronger connection to the University. Alums met at McKinley Hall in the Student Union to hear from two of their own: Frank Switzer (Class of 1996), now senior pastor of Paradise Valley Community Church, and Saralyn Bristow (Class of 1994), now a chaplain in the Maricopa County correctional system.
