College of Arts and Media: a new era for the arts

It’s been quite the year for students in the arts at GCU. One big change: a name change from the College of Fine Arts and Production to the College of Arts and Media. The new name better represent the college’s push toward collaboration and its degree offerings. “I’m excited for this rebranding of our college, because I feel it better represents who we are and where we’re going,” said Dance Director Bekki Price.

Fine Arts goes all out to improvise for students

The College of Fine Arts and Production is meeting the effects of the pandemic head-on. Its innovations include outdoor performances, master classes with industry professionals, livestreaming and a little of Disney’s “The Mandalorian” thrown in for good measure. COFAP Dean Claude Pensis calls it a “fun challenge.”

Fine Arts professor publishes architecture book

College of Fine Arts and Production Professor Alison King always had an interest in writing, and when the brand 180 Degree Design + Build asked her to help them make their dreams of making a book a reality, King didn’t hesitate to give it a shot. “Making Architecture,” King’s collaboration with the architecture brand was recently self published and is being carried at Changing Hands bookstore.
