About 200 students completed landscaping and painting projects for 10 west Phoenix homes on Saturday as part of Lopes Go Local in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona. Twice a year, Grand Canyon University and Habitat span out into the neighborhood around GCU to complete renovation projects. The effort is part of the university's five-point plan in the community. Over the past decade, projects for about 600 unique families have been completed.
