Noah Wolfe and Stephen Steininger have won the 2018-2019 election for the executive board of the Associated Students of Grand Canyon University (ASGCU).

Wolfe and running mate Steininger are the unofficial new president and executive vice president and will replace outgoing President Nate Carpenter and Vice President Matt Shinn.

Wolfe is a junior from San Diego, Calif. majoring in business management, and Steininger is a junior from Colorado Springs majoring in biblical studies.

“We certainly value the community that we have here at GCU and we are not trying to reinvent the wheel. We believe that this University is on the right track, but that doesn’t mean that we let apathy creep in. I say we keep moving forward,” Steininger said at the candidates' debate on Jan. 29.

Wolfe added, “At the end of the day, this role is not about what me and Stephen want to do – it’s about what we want to do as students. Us advocating for the students is incredibly important. It’s not our primary goal to see everything on our agenda completed. It’s a primary goal to get to the end of our administration and say, ‘Wow, we have progressed as a student body.’”

With their platform, Together We Can, Wolfe and Steininger want to implement the power of unity to develop ASGCU, campus communication and create opportunities on campus for all students. During campaign week, Steininger talked about creating a student-involvement survey in the student portal, to learn more about peers' interests, desires and likes.

Upon finishing this survey, students would be able to get plugged into events, activities and clubs on campus. Wolfe spoke to the idea of a leadership certificate program to acknowledge the many student leaders on campus and track their progress.

“We believe students have a fundamental need to excel, to feel loved and feel accepted,” Steininger said.

Bible Verse

All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. (Hebrews 11:13)
