Volunteers Needed for Canyon Cares Christmas

Help brighten the holidays for 250 of our neighborhood families at GCU’s 2nd Annual Canyon Cares Christmas on Sunday, December 12 at 1:30 p.m.

Share the joy and blessings for the holiday season with 250 families in our community through your time, talents and donations.  This year, instead of taking our gifts to neighborhood families in need, we will invite them to our campus for a special celebration here at GCU.

GCU will host a special, holiday meal and festive activities for the children, including playing in the “snow”, ornament making, cookie decorating, face painting, and photos with Santa.  While the children are having fun, parents will be invited to select and wrap donated toys they can take home and give the their children on Christmas!

Here’s how you can help:

Donations:

  • New, unwrapped toys for boys and girls in a variety of age groups
  • Christmas wrapping paper, ribbons, bows and tags
  • Cash to purchase craft materials

Volunteers:

  • Registration
  • Translation (English/Spanish)
  • Serve dinner
  • Children’s activities
  • Toy distribution
  • Set up/clean up

Volunteers are encouraged to arrive by 12:30 p.m. for instructions.

To volunteer, please email Terri Faust [email protected] and select the activity you wish to participate in from the menu above.  Donations of toys and wrapping items can be brought to the Office of Spiritual Life no later than 4 p.m. on December 10.
