The 10th annual TEDxGCU theme is “X: The Renaissance.” But it easily can be billed as a decade of sustained success.
TEDxGCU, a nonprofit organized by Grand Canyon University student leaders, will continue to host a spectrum of speakers who hope to spark impactful conversation. This year’s event will start at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Global Credit Union Arena.
"TEDxGCU was started 10 years ago by a few passionate students and has exploded into a club that has the reputation of putting together a high-quality event, with only students," Madison Land, club president, said.
"The Renaissance" theme was selected to honor the legacy of the past 10 years of TEDxGCU and the efforts of hundreds of student members who have sustained the event through the years with a high level of detail and passion, Land said.
"As we honor the legacy of what came before us, the students, sponsors, speakers and faculty, we are also aiming to revive it by representing past years through each speaker, while still staying true to the mission of TEDxGCU by platforming innovative ideas," Land added. "Making our main event truly timeless, how we can pull from the past and still offer something new from that?"
