The Office of Career Services is proud to present its student worker of the month – Meranda Baker.
Baker is a senior interdisciplinary studies major working with the Campus Admissions Team in the Kaibab Enrollment Office. In her year and a half in the office she has developed a reputation as positive personality willing to do whatever needs to be done.
“She is our oldest student worker and has stepped up to fill a leadership role,” says office coordinator Tammy Stouffer. “She is the resource that guides our other student workers as they learn the job.”
As a student worker in the enrollment office, her primary responsibilities include preparing information packets for prospective students, pressing t-shirts and helping out with events.
She is also known as the go-to tour guide. According to Stouffer, all the enrollment counselors personally choose Baker to give campus tours to their prospective students.
“Giving tours has given me an opportunity to learn about places on campus that I would not have necessarily gone to,” says Baker. “I get to learn about everyone from ROTC to Student Life and Athletics. It’s cool to see so much positive growth while I have been here.”
Baker is an active presence on campus, having played with the golf team and being a part of intramurals and campus events. She is also excited about the new club she joined – the Canyon Trails Camping Club.
Following graduation, she hopes to travel. A lot.
I want to travel literally everywhere,” she says. “Literally everywhere. Except Antarctica.”
