Slideshow: 'Shop with a Cop'

GCU News Bureau

Several Grand Canyon University police department members spent Saturday morning at a "Shop with a Cop" community service program in Mesa. The department had adopted a family whose house was destroyed in a fire and who also had been a traffic collision. The officers met the family members and took them on a $100 per person shopping spree at Target, and each child won additional prizes. "They were very appreciative," said one of the officers, Ryan Sand, an emergency management specialist. "It was a very emotional day for all of us."
