Students got to party on the Quad and learned something at the same time about the dangers of alcohol during Monday night’s Root Beer Kegger. The annual Student Life event included root beer pong, which involved a soft drink made by the local Cider Mill Gourmet Market and Sandwich Shop in Scottsdale.

The event featured simulations of drunken driving (in security golf carts) and a father from Mothers Against Drunk Driving who shared his experience of losing a son to a DUI-related tragedy. Students tapped five root beer kegs and responded well to safety messages, Residence Life Manager Joe Brooks said.
