The Grand Canyon University theatre department opened its 2018-19 season with "Ring Round the Moon," a Jean Anouilh story adapted by Christopher Fry. The fairy tale-like romance, set at a French chateau in 1912, finds the heartless Hugo trying to break up his twin brother Frederic's engagement to heiress Diana Messerschmann. The play will be performed from Aug. 24-26 and Aug. 31-Sept. 2 at Ethington Theatre. Show times are 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays.
