The final Chapel of each semester at Grand Canyon University traditionally centers on music, and on Monday morning it centered on Christmas. Students sang Christmas carols and heard an inspirational Christmas message from Dr. Tim Griffin, Pastor and Dean of Students.

The service was led by a combined group of the all-student Worship teams, who perform at Chapel every week. Students had just returned from fall break, which Griffin considers a time to reflect on what has happened during the semester, and next week will head off to winter break and Christmas celebrations.

"I hope you'll go into the new year with a fresh outlook but Jesus still will be number one in your life," he said.

Griffin read the account of Jesus' birth in the second chapter of Luke, and the Worship teams then closed with "Joy to the World."

Bible Verse

Now as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside and said to them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn Him to death and will turn Him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day He will be raised to life!" (Matthew 20:17-19)
