Photos by Darryl Webb/GCU

Wednesday’s tribute at Grand Canyon University to the victims of the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, coordinated by Enrollment Counselor Tim Kane, an Army veteran, provided an opportunity for quiet reflection on the Quad outside the Arena. The flag memorial honored the 2,977 victims plus 147 Arizona military casualties in Afghanistan and Iraq since 9/11. “The events of 9/11 defined an entire generation,” said Dr. Hank Radda, GCU’s provost. The memorial was set up on Tuesday for the ceremony and display Wednesday.
