David Kadlubowski, Athletics and Media Photographer for Grand Canyon Education, earned a first place, a second place and a fourth place last week in the annual competition sponsored by the University Photographers' Association of America.

Each entrant was allowed to submit six photos. The UPAA has 370 members from the United States, Canada, Australia and Israel. Here are Kadlubowski's three winners:

FIRST PLACE: Personal Vision

“Milky Way Rainbow” -- A panorama of Canyon Lake made up of 14 images stitched together in Photoshop.

****

SECOND PLACE: Sports Action

Varsity athletes/coaches/staff representing your university/college in action during school-sanctioned competition or practice. Sports action images should be "found" images: naturally occurring and uncontrolled by the photographer.

Kadlubowski calls this one "In the Lead."

****

FOURTH PLACE: News & College Life

Images of found subject matter (unposed and uncontrolled) documenting University/College-related events as they occur naturally. Photographs in this category must adhere to accepted photojournalistic standards.

This was shot at GCU's "Glow Party” during 2019 Welcome Week.
