Grand Canyon University honored veterans Wednesday during the Salute Our Troops 2016 event at the Arizona State Veteran Home in Phoenix. Military/Business Operations and Community Outreach staffers and volunteers chatted over breakfast pastries and coffee with some of the men and women who served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. The disabled veterans who live in the 200-bed facility near Seventh Street and Indian School Road could choose among a drum circle, Texas Hold ’Em, wheelchair bowling and karaoke before joining a military branch singalong.
