Fun fact: The nonprofit Phoenix Zoo is home to more than 1,400 animals including more than 30 different endangered or threatened species from around the world. The zoo also has a lot of weeds and other horticulture-related work to be done, as several online faculty members recently found out during a volunteer expedition. The helpers included Allen Spaulding, Andy McClurg, Berenise Charlton, Cory Avila, David Farbishel, Eric Hernando, Hector Llanes, Matt Hampton, Numa Gomez, Peter Rasor, Scott Hovater, Steve Duby, and Tina Salata.
