Under an azure sky that mirrored the heavens above New York City on an unforgettable autumn morning 14 years ago, GCU paid tribute Friday morning to the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives in terrorist attacks on U.S. soil on Sept. 11, 2001. The presentation of the colors, the performance of the national anthem by GCU's Critical Mass, a prayer by Dean of Students Pastor Tim Griffin and remarks about the U.S. flag's importance by Dr. Randy Gibb, dean of the Colangelo College of Business, made the commemoration special.

Bible Verse

Now as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside and said to them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn Him to death and will turn Him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day He will be raised to life!" (Matthew 20:17-19)
