Brian Mueller is taking his Christian beliefs to new heights, according to an article in the Phoenix Business Journal which named him its Business Person of the Year for 2015.
In its Jan. 1 issue, the Journal cited the GCU president’s upbringing in Christian education, the University’s commitment to its neighborhood with home improvement projects and free tutoring for surrounding schools, Mueller’s pledge to keep higher education affordable, and his efforts to revitalize west Phoenix both socially and economically as reasons behind the award.
When Mueller makes business decisions for the University, the Journal’s Angela Gonzales wrote, he does it with his Christian beliefs at the forefront.
“We would like to be an example of — not a church — but a university that professes to believe what’s in the Bible in the Christian world view, but we want people first to see us living it out,” Mueller told the Journal. “Living it out in this neighborhood is really, really satisfying.”
