Help the Next Freshman Class 'Discover GCU'

GCU is looking for volunteer student hosts for Discover GCU events on campus. Hosts (current residential students in Hegel and Canyon) are needed to help bring in the next Freshman class and open their suites to prospective students overnight. Students who host for Discover GCU will be entered into a raffle for free movie passes.

As prospective junior and senior high school students research their college options, DISCOVER GCU provides an opportunity to explore our campus and get an in-depth look at GCU student life. DISCOVER GCU provides activities that expose them to a college environment and opportunities to interact with current students, experience a meal in the Student Union cafeteria and get a better understanding of why GCU just may be the right place for them.

Host will meet the prospective student as they move into their room, meet up with the prospective student at a campus-wide evening student activity, and host them overnight.

Host Interest Cards will be posted on Hegel and Canyon resident doors next week and can be turned in to their Resident Assistant (RA) by October 1. Roommate approval is required to host a student.

Hosts must attend one of two information meetings on either October 11 or October 12. Discover dates are Tuesday-Wednesday, October 19-20 and November 30-December 1.

Questions can be directed to Michelle Chavez at [email protected] or 602.639.6433.
