EDITOR'S NOTE: This is the seventh in a series of profiles on GCU's Ingram Honors College Student Advisory Council.
When Grand Canyon University junior Addison Green is home in Oregon for the summer, she spends her time working at her family’s 40-acre filbert orchard.
But when she is back on campus, her world revolves around academics, business and the Ingram Honors College.

Influenced by family entrepreneurs growing up, Green developed a passion for supporting anyone who wants to turn their business creativity into reality.
A business analytics major was an easy choice for her, but she wanted to do more.
She is headed into the 2026-27 academic year as director of the academic excellence committee for the Ingram Honors College Student Advisory Council.
1. What motivated you to get involved with the student advisory council?
I was placed in LIA (the Honors College's Leadership in Action institute) freshman year. That was assigned to me based on a scholarship, and I really wasn’t sure what it would entail. After doing it for a year, I really grew in my leadership abilities, and it encouraged me to try to step out of the box to try new things.
Last year, I was part of the academic excellence committee just as a member. I gained a lot of knowledge and experience through that and was coming up with ideas on different things we could try. So, I was able to step into this year more prepared because I have experienced those things and went through a whole year of academic excellence.
2. As the director of the academic committee, what is your best tip for prioritizing academics when juggling college responsibilities?
My to-do list is my best friend. I have an ongoing to-do list, and I just keep adding things to it. And it needs to be handwritten because it won’t get done if it’s just a mental list or on my phone. It needs to be something I can physically cross off.
It’s something that really helps me stay organized, and it allows me to have a goal to finish by the end of the day. Seeing it all completed by the evening time is just so satisfying.
3. If you were building a new home for a college, what feature would you have to have in the building?
I would include walking pads that you can put under a standing desk. I am so productive when I am moving and active. So, having a walking pad forces you to keep working.
Secondly, I would add a GCBC inside the building. I need my caffeine, and I love getting a fun drink. It’s like a reward for me.
4. If GCU had a yearbook, what would be your senior superlative?
Most likely to be 10 minutes early. I am a big stickler about five minutes early is on time, and I have nightmares about being late.
5. As someone who works at GCBC, what drink that isn’t on the menu would you recommend to students?
Hands down, a London Fog – but add lavender. It’s the perfect drink for the fall and winter. It’s 100% my comfort drink.
6. You love to travel. What is the best place you’ve traveled to?
Definitely Spain. I went about three years ago to Valencia and Madrid. I am someone who really loves looking at the architecture, so I loved that element to it.
The community there was so welcoming. I was traveling with my grandma, and they would give up their seat to let her sit. It is really easy to walk around. It was just a really great environment and a beautiful country.
7. If you could open another GCU campus in a different location, where would it be?
I would love to open a campus in one of the Scandinavian countries, probably Norway. Getting a different environment would be really interesting, maybe somewhere with not so much heat. For those that don’t love how hot it is in Arizona, they can go to Norway.
8. Who is your inspiration?
I have admired Harry Holt for a long time. He and his wife started an international adoption agency. I have really admired his determination and his perseverance to better a child’s life and community. Last year, I was able to present in the Honors Showcase, and my presentation was on international adoption.
9. At the Ingram Honors groundbreaking, there was a time capsule buried. What is a message you would want to share about Honors with someone who will open the capsule years from now?
The people you meet in Honors will become some of your best friends. Make all the memories.
