GCU to Screen Christian Film ‘I AM’

The faith-based film “I AM” has earned considerable attention in Hollywood and around the country.

The film, written and directed by John Ward, depicts 10 people, each dealing with the effects of breaking one of the Ten Commandments.

At 6 p.m. Tuesday, GCU will screen the film in the North Gym prior to theGathering.  The University is one of many organizations to screen “I AM.”  More than 2,500 churches have screened the movie to an audience exceeding one million people worldwide.

The film is unique because it was produced by a church and not a Hollywood studio. As Jeff Pries, the executive producer of “I AM” and pastor at Mariners Church in California, says on the film’s website: “’I AM’ is not a movie that pretends to have all the answers. Instead, it’s a movie that simply hopes to spur two questions: What is God really like, and how does He feel about us?”

The film demonstrates God’s loving presence, even when His people sin. Ward describes it as “the ultimate love story.”

The University will provide pizza and soft drinks for everyone in attendance at the screening.

“This is an exciting opportunity for GCU,” says Helen Bleach, director of university relations and events.
