Grand Canyon University's K12 Educational Development will stage its first MESA (Math Engineering Science Achievement) Virtual STEM Camp for students in grades 7-12 on Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 12-14.
Students will have opportunities to learn about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) programs at GCU by attending GCU Live sessions appropriate to engineering, computer science and business. They also will do teambuilding activities and earn Thunder Tokens for prizes.
Sessions in the free camp are scheduled for 5-8 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m.-noon Saturday. Students are encouraged to be online for all three sessions but can jump into any session during the camp.
The Saturday session will feature a presentation on the Thunder Vision Mission and Vision for the MESA team, followed by a panel discussion with GCU STEM students from the Information x Technology Club (IxT), Society of Automotive Engineers and Society of Women Engineers. Trevor Baines. President of the IxT Club, will deliver the closing talk.
