GCU students swarm Arena, Lopes Way for Midnight Ma-a-a-adness III

The “Star Wars” franchise has nothing on Midnight Madness III at Grand Canyon University, where Friday night a mix of galactic lights, music and enthusiasm transported the Arena to an otherworldly place. And after the show, during which the Lopes men’s and women’s basketball teams were introduced and their coaches showed up in a rather unusual way, the crowd, including tons of parents here for Family Weekend, congregated on Lopes Way well past the midnight hour.
