GCU statement regarding DACA announcement

GCU supports and embraces the 300-400 DACA students on campus.

Grand Canyon University supports initiatives that provide legal clarity for DACA students and is reaching out to our Arizona representatives in hopes that Congress will enact meaningful and timely immigration reform.

GCU resides in an inner-city neighborhood where many immigrants reside. As we have embedded ourselves in this community and continue our efforts to revitalize West Phoenix, we have seen firsthand the incredible work ethic and contributions of these residents.

As a private institution, GCU is a diverse and inclusive university that treats all students the same regardless of where they are from. Tuition is the same for in-state and out-of-state residents, including DACA students, and all students are eligible for the same institutional scholarships based on their academic standing.

We estimate there are 300-400 DACA students currently on our campus and we will continue to support and embrace them as they pursue their education and build a better future for themselves and their families.
