GCU Magazine magnifies unique learning experiences

GCU News Bureau

What are Lopes Live Labs? The August issue of GCU Magazine provides the answer with a 10-page report: It's anywhere hands-on, experiential learning takes place, which could mean anything from probing cadavers to working in one of the University's business enterprises to starting a skateboard business with the help of people from all over campus. But there's plenty more about the 2021-22 academic year: The issue kicks off with President Brian Mueller's welcome letter to students, includes an expanded calendar of events, provides interesting tidbits in the annual GCU INsider, and features stories on other new developments:

  • The L.O.P.E.S. Academy at Cardon Center
  • Two recent appointees, Vice President of Athletics Jamie Boggs and College of Education Dean Dr. Meredith Critchfield
  • The online program for forensic science
  • An expanded list of alumni events

And besides all that, the alumni section has two new features: The class notes section, now called Lope Links, has been expanded to two pages, and a new story, calling Guiding Light, about an alum doing great work in the community.

The magazine is available digitally and can be viewed here.

Bible Verse

For this is what the high and lofty One says — He who lives forever, whose name is holy: "I live in a high and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite." (Isaiah 57:15)
