GCU Magazine has wide range of important stories

GCU News Bureau

The November issue of GCU Magazine tackles a touchy subject -- civil discourse -- and shows what Grand Canyon University is actively doing to maintain the unity of the campus environment. GCU launched an initiative this year designed to bring people together for thoughtful discussions, not pull them apart with divisive rhetoric.

Also in this issue are stories on two other important initiatives, the Barnabas Pastoral Program and the Innovation Center, and a look at how key female leaders in the College of Science, Engineering and Technology are showing women that they, too, have a place in that field.

Paul Coro's piece on T.C. Dean, the first African American student at GCU in the 1950s, raises the periscope to show what life was like then, and there's also a fun new annual feature: a Christmas shopping guide for everything a GCU family might want.

Bible Verse

Now as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside and said to them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn Him to death and will turn Him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day He will be raised to life!" (Matthew 20:17-19)
