GCU brightens day for children battling cancer

Thunder and GCU's cheerleading squad did what they do best — bringing cheer — during an event last week at Phoenix Children's Hospital, which was co-hosted by the hospital and Children's Cancer Network. To commemorate September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, GCU Community Outreach Manager Sussely Morales organized a time for young patients in the oncology unit to make crafts, including gold superhero capes and wishing wands, and to have fun. GCU will host its annual Run to Fight Children's Cancer on Saturday, March 7.

Bible Verse

Now as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside and said to them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn Him to death and will turn Him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day He will be raised to life!" (Matthew 20:17-19)
