Fitness Facts: COVID-19 resources

As the season has shifted to monsoon, we have encountered many changes with the COVID-19 tidal wave of change.

We have had to demonstrate an enormous flexibility unprecedented in the last few decades. Some have found hope in the renewal that campus life will bring, and with that we adjust to a new reality interlaced with knowledge of COVID-19 lurking in the background.

Now that we have adjusted, so has leadership and guidance by our state and local leaders. Below are links to the Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH), Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) and CDC COVID pages.

These links can direct you to the newest guidelines for care, quarantine, isolation and when to seek care for those who find themselves either curious – trying to be proactive, or ill and in need of guidance.

Either way, you can empower yourself with information and facts. You are genuinely valued, and I hope this ends up being an excellent fall semester for you all.

God bless, and we know all Lopes will guide the way in self-responsibility. So mask up, maintain social-distancing guidelines, wash hands whenever possible or use hand sanitizer, elbow bump instead of shaking hands and have a great year.

From CDC, 2020:

When to seek emergency medical attention: Look for emergency warning signs* for COVID-19. If someone is showing any of these signs, seek emergency medical care immediately:

  • Trouble breathing
  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
  • New confusion
  • Inability to awake or stay awake
  • Bluish lips or face

*This list is not all possible symptoms. Please call your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning to you.

Call 911 or call ahead to your local emergency facility: Notify the operator that you are seeking care for someone who has or might have COVID-19.

Bible Verse

All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. (Hebrews 11:13)
