Fitness ascends to forefront in GCU Magazine

Grand Canyon University students have fitness options all over campus and beyond.

There are all the fitness centers ... and sand volleyball courts ... and artificial turf fields ... and mammoth Canyon Activity Center with its climbing wall, skate park and outdoor roller hockey rink.

There are student-led fitness classes, plus intramurals and Club Sports.

They can have their fitness levels and eating habits checked ... for free.

There is inviting weather year-round.

And if they want to take further advantage of the climate and explore the wilds of Arizona, the Outdoor Recreation program features hikes, campouts, kayaking trips and much more.

The February issue of GCU Magazine lays it all out there in a 10-page Active Campus special report that explains why the fitness centers and activities have been so popular this year.

But there's much more. The magazine also contains stories on:

  • The three students leading a mission to send a microbial fuel cell to the International Space Station
  • Baseball coach Andy Stankiewicz's interesting background
  • GCU's leadership in the development of online education
  • The way Parent and Family Programs keeps parents connected to campus

The magazine will be distributed on campus soon but can be read digitally here.

Bible Verse

All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. (Hebrews 11:13)
