Faculty scholarship (publications, scholarly presentations, fellowships, etc.): Social justice panelist at GCU; Chapel speaker; FOX II Magazine; 944th Fighter Wing, Luke AFB, Glendale; “Across the Universe,” National Library of Poetry, 1996; Milwaukee Brewers’ Spiritual Devotional Writer.

Notable research in your field: Led a team of five online instructors from various disciplines in a 10-week Faith and Learning Integration mentorship, ultimately drafting an FLI manual for instructors.

Notable employment in your field: Air Force Reserve Chaplain – Lt. Colonel at 943rd Rescue Group, Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson.

What are you most passionate about in your field? Faith and learning integration. Teaching Christian worldview allows me the privilege of shaping my students and equipping them to see the world through a Christian lens with timeless Biblical principles that honor God and benefit humanity.

What aspect of your teaching style is the most distinctive and/or memorable? I take an incarnational approach with my students. This simply means, “doing life with my students.” Within my class, I offer times to submit prayer requests and also ask them to pray for me and my family. In addition, I share my chaplain experience as a practical “real life” reinforcement of lesson objective as they fit the concepts being taught.

What do you like to do for fun in your spare time? Play and teach pickleball. I have been playing for 4½ years, including three in tournament play. I also have introduced this sport to my online colleagues and have enjoyed recreational play with them for the last two years. I also lend my support to my wife, Tanya, who started a nonprofit company, Elevate One, two years ago. Its mission is to share the love of Christ through the sport of pickleball.

What is something interesting about you that most people don't know? My wife and I are raising our three granddaughters (6, 5, and 3 years old). Going from empty-nesters to raising kids again has been quite the endeavor, and sleep is at a premium. However, the Lord is sustaining us!
