Graduates Making High Marks in Schools Across Country

GCU graduates have been making a name for themselves in classrooms across the country.

Donna DeTommaso-Kleinert, who received her doctorate in educational leadership from GCU, recently was named the 2012 Outstanding Doctoral Student by the Arizona School Administrators organization. DeTommaso-Kleinert teaches English as a second language at Penndale Middle School and North Penn High School in Lansdale, Penn.

Karri Zotyka Parramore was selected as West Bainbridge Elementary School's Teacher of the Year in Bainbridge, Ga. Parramore, who has been at the school since 2005 as a kindergarten and first-grade teacher, received her master's degree from GCU.

Another school in Bainbridge also honored a GCU grad when Chrissy Mueller was named Elcan-King Elementary’s Teacher of the Year. Mueller also got her master’s from GCU.

Fourth-grade teacher Crystal Lock was honored as Teacher of the Year at Finley Elementary School in Finley, Tenn. She received her master’s in the art of teaching from GCU.

Stacey Musey, a Vineland High School North biology instructor in Vineland, N.J., was selected as the Cumberland County Teacher of the Year. She received a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis on technology at GCU.

Our own LeAnne Prenovost, an assistant professor at GCU, recently was named the 2012 Online College Professor of the Year by BestCollegesOnline.com.

And, as we noted in an earlier story in GCU Today, 2011 grad Anthony Perez was one of the rookie teachers of the year in the Glendale school district for his work as a second-grade English Language Development teacher at Glenn F. Burton Elementary.
