The T.W. Lewis Center for Student Success won’t be the only addition to the Colangelo College of Business at Grand Canyon University this semester. The college also named a new assistant dean, Dr. Ed Slover.
Slover joined GCU in 2015 as an instructor before taking on the role of professor of management and marketing. He specializes in organizational behavior and management.
Before he came to GCU, Slover was area director for My Fit Foods and district manager for 11 Phoenix-area 24-Hour Fitness locations. He spent 16 years in the commercial health and fitness industry.
His doctorate is in management and organizational leadership from the University of Phoenix, and he holds master’s degrees in psychology from GCU and organizational management from the University of Phoenix.
Other new full-time faculty:
- Carrie Whitley is specializing in management. She served as a senior account manager for four years at Solution Tree, a professional development company that has produced material for K-12 educators. John-Carbon’s engagement model framework is designed to enhance student success in online graduate programs. The model is built on three concepts: cognitive engagement, social engagement and emotional engagement. She possesses industry experience in investment management, money markets and corporate finance. John-Carbon earned a doctoral degree in business administration from Northcentral University.

Jensen earned his master’s degree in business administration and management from Southern Utah University.
The T.W. Lewis Center for Student Success is scheduled to make its debut this semester. The upgrades, made possible through the T.W. Lewis Foundation, are designed to provide GCU students with more tools, greater avenues to employment and more exposure to the marketplace.
