Antelope Intros: Tacy Austin

Antelope Intros is a recurring GCU Today feature that introduces some of our new employees to the people around them in a way that is fun and informative. Employees are eligible to be featured in the month following their orientation.

TACY AUSTIN

Tacy Austin (second from right) with her family.

Job title: Engineering project coordinator

Job location: Main campus

What attracted you to GCU? My husband and I did a new student tour last year with our daughter. This is not the GCU I remembered, so I started looking into job opportunities here.

What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? I am a fitness enthusiast, so I enjoy the great outdoors and being with people who like to push themselves.

What are you passionate about? Enjoying the time with my family! My youngest says that I am annoying, but I think I am fun and funny.

What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? Anything that is outside or free. Costco samples are my favorite, and I also like hiking, cycling, Luke Days and parades. We have had three marching band students and don’t miss one parade.

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: I do not like to cook.  I would prefer to clean than make a dinner.  Actually, preparing dinner for another person will send me into a panic attack.

What are you most proud of? My three kids (20, 18 and 16)!  The two oldest are GCU students. They make me proud to be their mom.

Bible Verse

All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. (Hebrews 11:13)
