Antelope Intros: Lindsay Hallam, Brice Myers and Eli Lewis

Antelope Intros is a recurring GCU Today feature that introduces some of our new employees to the people around them in a way that is fun and informative. Employees are eligible to be featured in the month following their orientation.

LINDSAY HALLAM

Job title: Library Assistant-Curriculum

Job location: Fleming Library

What attracted you to GCU?  The library is small enough to be able to have an essential role, but big enough to impact lots of students and faculty.

What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? It may sound cliché for a librarian … but I love reading. I choke a little when I look at my bill from Amazon each month.

What are you passionate about? Information literacy. I really want to show people how to find and use information. There is so much info out there, in so many formats, it can be very overwhelming.

What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? My husband and I love to take the kids “hiking” around Papago Park. They think they are mountain climbing! My husband’s family are all pilots, so you can also find us at most air shows.

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know:  In college, I broke both of my arms at the same time during the intermural championship game of broomball.… We won.

What are you most proud of?  My kids. My husband and I high-five on their birthdays each year about the fact that we managed to keep them alive and growing for one more year!

___

BRICE MYERS

Job title:  Regional Admissions Rep

Job location: San Diego

What attracted you to GCU?  The color purple … and gainful employment

What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? Surf regularly (or used to in SoCal), read, movies, friends, photography, family time.

What are you passionate about? Student Development and Design

What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit?  I’ve only visited the Valley once for my training … but I enjoyed the week I spent there!

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: I was a high-level gymnast for nine years and coached elite level girls' gymnastics for three.

What are you most proud of? The four years I spent as a full-time caretaker to my grandfather … and my extensive knowledge of Harry Potter trivia.

___

ELI LEWIS

Job title:  Doctoral Enrollment Counselor

Job location: Tempe

What attracted you to GCU?  Christian values and its continued growth.

What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? Play with my kids and watch movies with my wife. (On the side I like to repair and experiment with electronics.)

What are you passionate about? Education (learning, sharing and developing new understanding about how the world works)

What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit?  Glendale Glitters and almost anything at Tempe Town Lake.

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know:  I like to create inventions and develop new ways to use the stuff we throw away.

What are you most proud of?  My family. They are an amazing bunch of people who love with all their hearts.

Bible Verse

All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. (Hebrews 11:13)
