KAYLA ANTICEVICH
Job title: University counselor, College of Education
Job location: 27th Avenue
What attracted you to GCU? The Christian ideals, school life aspect, and the location – Phoenix!
What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? I recently discovered Flagstaff Extreme, an American ninja warrior-like obstacle course at the top of pine trees in Flagstaff.
What are you passionate about? Helping people while striving daily to become more Christ-like. I strongly believe that anyone can turn their life around and be reborn, just as I was.
What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? I love going on historic home tours in the Valley. My favorite neighborhoods are Willo Historic District and Coronado Historic District in downtown Phoenix.
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: When I was younger I danced in the Super Bowl halftime show when Diana Ross performed here in Arizona.
What are you most proud of? My family. My brother and I both are in the helping professions (he is a firefighter, and I have been working in mental/behavioral health). This is largely the result of the ideals my mom instilled in us about volunteer work when we were growing up.

SCOTT KOLMER
Job title: Student activities coordinator
Job location: Main campus, Building 26
What attracted you to GCU? I grew up in Phoenix but have spent the last five years working in California. It’s been incredible to see the amount of growth that GCU has experienced even just in that time, and it was an exciting opportunity to be part of a place that is constantly moving forward. I appreciate that GCU is able to expand and continue to serve more students while still sticking to its core principles and keeping Christ at the center. It’s also a nice perk that I am close to family again as well.
What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? I’m a big sports fan and love to watch and play just about any sport. I really enjoy playing basketball, so I try to get involved in games at the Lopes Performance Center when I can. I’ve been playing at Rose Mofford Sports Complex with some friends once a week.
What are you passionate about? Getting students connected and making them feel valued and a part of the community. College is such an impactful time in a person’s life, so it’s a privilege to be able to play a small part in a student’s experience. I’m also passionate about the $5 Cravings Deal at Taco Bell … it’s a massive amount of food for only $5. Such a good value!
What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? I like spending a summer night at Chase Field watching the D-backs. It always sounds like a good idea! I also like to hike at all of the local trails. I’ve got a love/hate relationship with Camelback Mountain.
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: I’ve been on "The Ellen Show."
What are you most proud of? The work that I’ve done with students in the past and my heart for serving them. I’m excited to find new opportunities here at GCU to serve our students. Additionally, I’m extremely proud of how seriously I take being an uncle! I’ve got two little nieces and a nephew, and I’m pretty proud of how I’ve committed to being in their lives!
