KATY WILHELM

Katy Wilhelm

Job title: University counselor (military division)

Job location: 27th Avenue

What attracted you to GCU? I like being in a University environment and enjoy being around people who share my enthusiasm for higher education.

What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? Lately I’ve been really into Audiobooks.  I have an hour commute to and from work and enjoy listening to them while I drive.

What are you passionate about? I’m really passionate about writing. I’ve been working on a historical fiction series for more than seven years and hope to one day get it published. It’s very close to my heart.

What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? I’m new to the area, so I’m not sure yet!  GCU?

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: I used to be extremely involved in musical theatre. From the ages of 7 to 17, before I went to college, I performed in 30 musicals with various theatre companies. (I’m from the greater L.A. area, so there were theatre groups all over the place.)

What are you most proud of? Right now I would say making it through my last semester of college! I wanted to graduate in December instead of April, so the workload for that last semester was insane. But I’m so proud that I was able to pass Chinese in the same semester that I wrote my thesis!

Bible Verse

All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. (Hebrews 11:13)
