Antelope Intros is a new GCU Today feature. Because the University is growing so fast with so many new faces, we wanted to introduce some of our new employees to the people around them in a way that is both fun and informative. We’ve created these Q&As to tell you a little about the new people sharing your office space. Employees are eligible to be featured in the month following their orientation.
JOSHUA KUTCHINSKI
Job title: Teacher Education Specialist
Job location: Tempe
What attracted you to GCU? The value that GCU places on customer service.
What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? I coach basketball, go to college games, pro games, etc.
What are you passionate about? I’ve coached basketball for 14 years (high school, college). I believe there is no better tool to teach young adults life lessons than by this game. The reward you get from watching an individual reach a goal that they worked so hard to reach is unmatched.
What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? Camelback Mountain. The workout you get and the reward of the view once you reach the top is amazing!
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: That I’m a contractor, I’ve been building houses since I was little with my dad. It is also why I have so much passion and energy to coach basketball. The work ethic I’ve learned from my father in construction I rolled over to coaching. The hard work you put in is exactly what you’re going to get out of whatever you do! There are no shortcuts!
What are you most proud of? My son Jaiden. He just learned to count to 10 in Spanish and he is only 2 years old. I was so proud of him!
