JESSICA JACKSON
Job title: University Counselor – International and Tribal
Job location: 27th Ave
What attracted you to GCU? I recently graduated from GCU. The thing I loved most about being a student at GCU was the community and I wanted to find a career that would offer the same feeling of family and support. I have several friends who work for GCU and every GCU employee I’ve met has been friendly and supportive. Working for GCU seemed like a natural fit for me.
What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? I love to explore new places. I travel as often as I can and I love to go hiking on the weekends.
What are you passionate about? It sounds cliché, but I’m most passionate about helping others. I majored in exercise science at GCU and I one day hope to be a physical therapist. I’m fascinated by the human body and I like to help people live healthy lives.
What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? I’m definitely obsessed with food so all of my favorite places in the valley are restaurants — Two Hippies Beach House, Federal Pizza, Flower Child and Churn.
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: I am terrified of butterflies and moths.
What are you most proud of? I’m most proud of being the first in my family to graduate from college.
