HANNAH KLEVEN
Job title: Enrollment counselor, College of Nursing and Health Care Professions
Job location: Peoria
What attracted you to GCU? I love the atmosphere and the community that GCU has, the fact that it is a Christian university and how friendly everyone is. I graduated in April of this year and now am working full-time. GCU is just such a great place for students to grow and excel. It really cares about all of its students. I love it!
What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? I love being outdoors, whether that’s hiking, running or just walking around outside. I also love to hang out with my family and friends, and we always try to find new fun restaurants around the Phoenix area.
What are you passionate about? I am passionate about school, learning and helping people in any way that I can. When I was a student, I switched from nursing to psychology because I realized that I did not like stitches and needles and that I had more of a passion to talk with people about their life and help them work through different issues in their life. I added the second bachelor's, justice studies, because I always have been interested in exploring the idea of psychology within the justice field.
What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? I love the Phoenix Farmers Market on Saturday morning and the State Fair and country concerts held throughout the year. I probably could not count how many country concerts I have been to — probably more than 20. The Farmers Market is a fun atmosphere with all the great food and musicians.
What are you most proud of? Graduating with two bachelor's degrees in four years. This was important to me because neither of my parents have a degree. My parents were very supportive of my decision and encouraged me along the way.
