MATT ROSENKILDE
Job title: Doctoral Specialist/Enrollment Counselor
Job location: Tempe
What attracted you to GCU? I was attracted to GCU’s Christian roots and values. It is refreshing to work for a company/University that has the same/similar value system that I do. I also love going to school here which gave me even more fuel to consider GCU a perfect fit for me, my family and my career. I am blessed by being given the opportunity to work, learn and grow here at GCU.
What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? Exercise, sports, and spending time with my family. I have a 13-year-old daughter, an 11-year-old son and a 2-year-old stepson.
What are you passionate about? I am passionate about my Savior, my God, my family and helping people be well in any way I can. Given enough time I can get passionate about a variety of topics.
What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? If I have to pick one place that I like to go in Arizona, that would be Sedona (incredible weather, hiking, cliff jumping and scenery).
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: I sing at karaoke and have competed in karaoke competitions. The first competition I did I was talked into by the karaoke host after being told I embody Frank Sinatra’s singing style spot on. I just sang for fun and stress relief prior to that. Fun, flattering yet supremely unexpected.
What are you most proud of? I am proud of my education and as a result of my education and Toastmaster’s practice and feedback I was able to place 2nd at an international motivational speaking competition for Toastmasters International in my first year as a Toastmaster.
