Antelope Intros: Bronson Holland and Shanna Huslig

Antelope Intros is a recurring GCU Today feature that introduces some of our new employees to the people around them in a way that is fun and informative. Employees are eligible to be featured in the month following their orientation.

Bronson Holland

BRONSON HOLLAND

Job title: Project coordinator/CAD drafter

Job location: Medlock warehouse

What attracted you to GCU? The tuition benefits. What’s keeping me here is the great community and easygoing atmosphere.

What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? I love to travel. I just came back from about a yearlong backpacking trip around Western Europe, Southeast Asia, the Caribbean and some national parks here in the states.

What are you passionate about? Fitness, education, food, travel, having FUN.

What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? I enjoy different music festivals, food events, and going out in Old Town Scottsdale or downtown Phoenix.

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: I was born without one of my vertebrae and should actually be even taller than I already am! (I'm 6-foor-4.)

What are you most proud of? Getting my degree here from GCU, all the traveling I did following graduation, and my health.

Shanna Huslig

SHANNA HUSLIG

Job title: Full-time online faculty

Job location: 27th Avenue

What attracted you to GCU? I worked at GCU for six years and had to leave when my mother fell ill. She ended up passing away, which was really difficult for me to deal with. Coming back to GCU felt like coming “home.”

What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? I love to enjoy life in any way that I can! Hanging with friends and family, exploring the great outdoors, reading, exercising, live music, art, history, crafting and playing with my fur baby, among other things.

What are you passionate about? I am passionate about a lot of things, but a few of them include helping people build a growth mindset and get out of their own way and helping women and children get out of the human-trafficking trade.

What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit?  One of my favorite places in the Valley is the Botanical Garden. I also love the parks and walking trails that are all over.

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: I love to sing and was in choir when I was younger. Even won some competitions!

What are you most proud of? I have overcome a plethora of obstacles, tragedy and heartbreak in my life and am still able to maintain a positive attitude and love every minute I’m alive. God is great!

Bible Verse

All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. (Hebrews 11:13)
