What attracted you to GCU? I absolutely love the spirit that the staff, students and campus embody. It not only drives me but makes me desire to be better every day. I also am a firm believer in servant leadership and love the opportunity we have at GCU to support and serve each other in our teams. Lastly, I felt that I thrived the most while pursuing my higher education and felt that the move to a career with GCU was the perfect educational-environment fit for me.
What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? I love to travel, go hiking and find new recipes from blogs and random cookbooks. I try to travel to a new destination at least once a year, and when I’m home the Valley is filled with places to hike.
What are you passionate about? Serving others and coaxing a smile — the universal language of kindness — from at least one person a day.
What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? I love this little shaved ice shop called Bahama Buck's. It is the only place that reminds me of the shaved ice you can get in Maui. I also love to go hiking at Thunderbird and Camelback mountains.
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: I have cracked my head open twice, but I have never broken a bone.
What are you most proud of? Finding a career in HR because I have found my passion in my career. I truly believe that if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life.

Job location: Riverside, Calif.
What attracted you to GCU? The growth of the university and the impact it is having on the student body and graduates while also making a lasting, positive impact on the community.
What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? Trying to relive my glory days, I play soccer in a competitive league. I also like to kayak in San Diego Harbor and play sand volleyball. I recently went bowling and got five strikes in a row — not bad for doing it only a few times a year.
What are you passionate about? I see myself as a coach and an advocate. I tend to nurture people and help guide them in the right direction. I also volunteer regularly in the kids’ ministry at my church. I’m the guy who dances during the worship set to get the kids excited. I’ve been known to get dressed up as Santa, the Easter Bunny and most recently a platypus to promote the kids getting dressed up for Halloween. I strive to make a difference and impact in the lives of people around me. I want people to feel loved and appreciated for who they are and who God intended them to be.
What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? I love to visit Chase Field or go to downtown Gilbert and get brunch with friends. I also like to take my road bike out on the canals, even when it’s 105 degrees at 7 a.m. Every time I come back to visit I always hike to the top of Camelback Mountain and absorb the breathtaking view of the Valley below. I enjoy a good pizza from Oregano’s and taking a walk through the Desert Botanical Garden. I might even be back in town to catch ZooLights throughout the holiday season when I bring students on campus.
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: I am a fraternal twin, and on my mom’s side of the family we have 13 sets of twins in three generations. How’s that for some strong genes!
What are you most proud of? I am uncle to three amazing girls. I get to see them grow up and watch my siblings be great parents.
