What attracted you to GCU? Amazing Christian university, the color purple and I played on the softball field back in 2012 for a tournament.
What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? I love working out, spending time with my family and taking our two pitbulls (Cole & Bailey) to the dog park.
What are you passionate about? I am passionate about God, staying positive and optimistic, and living life to the fullest.
What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? Employee training was really the first time I have been in this area, but I loved Chapel that first day! I also do go to a lot of concerts at Talking Stick with my fiancé.
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: I have family in Hawaii!
What are you most proud of? Playing Division II softball and making Dean’s List.

What attracted you to GCU? Working at GCU provides many opportunities. Education benefits is a big one. I have a daughter who is graduating from high school this year, and she is looking at attending GCU. Another opportunity is to be able to meet and talk to the next generation of business and community leaders here on campus.
What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? I like to spend time with my family, and I enjoy fishing.
What are you passionate about? Safety. I've been in the Army and have been a firefighter/fire chief, so safety is very important to me. I have seen many “fun” or seemingly easy things go horribly wrong that could have been prevented. (“Never do anything you don’t want to explain to a paramedic later.”)
What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit? I don’t have any yet.
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: I am a retired service member and retired volunteer chief. I originally joined the U.S. Army in 1982. I took almost a five-year break and rejoined the Army in 1991 and retired from active duty in December 2007 (20 years of service) near Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. During my time in the Army I trained and/or served in Germany (three tours), Bosnia, Panama, Alaska, Georgia, California, Iraq and Missouri. After my time in the service I worked for the Department of Defense as an instructor. Shortly before my instructor position was terminated, I became the fire chief of a small rural fire department and served the community in that capacity until I came back to Arizona.
What are you most proud of? My family. We have chosen to relocate back to Arizona to be closer to family. I have been married to my wife, Baerbel (she is originally from Nuernberg, Germany) for 18 years, and we have four children and two grandchildren.
