Antelope Intros: Adrienne Bottcher, Krystal Ballinger, Seka Nelson

Antelope Intros is a new GCU Today feature. Because the University is growing so fast with so many new faces, we wanted to introduce some of our new employees to the people around them in a way that is both fun and informative. We’ve created these Q&As to tell you a little about the new people sharing your office space. Employees are eligible to be featured in the month following their orientation.

SEKA NELSON

Job title:  Online Academic Counselor

Job location: Peoria

What attracted you to GCU? The environment and the campus.  I know some current employees with GCU who are friends of mine, and mentioned how great the environment is.  Additionally,  I’ve always wanted to work for a school that has an actual campus along with the sporting events!  Love it so far!

What do you do for fun and where do you find that outlet? I enjoy being around my friends and family.  To find any outlet, you’ll find me around my family or at the gym!

What are you passionate about?  I’m passionate about education as well as being a successful person.

What are your favorite places or events in the Valley that you like to visit?  The annual Arizona State Fair.  I always get to enjoy that with family and friends!

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know:  Most people don’t know that I have a passion and love for sports, especially football and basketball.  Most people also don’t know that I’m the youngest in my family and spoiled by my older siblings!

What are you most proud of?  I’m most proud of getting a solid education and being able to be that role model for many individuals, especially kids back home on my reservation.  I believe in the motto “You can accomplish anything if you put your mind to it.” This is a saying my parents instilled in me since I was a child.
