A new workout and a new class

By Kayla Hartson
Student Fitness Coordinator

A full body workout is a great way to hit your weekly fitness goals, especially if you complete it 2-3 times per week.

It is recommended that you train each muscle group about 2-3 times per week, with adequate rest between training days. Read this article about the American College of Sports Medicine’s weekly exercise recommendations for optimal health.

The Antelope Fitness Center is launching a new class next week called LopeFit. The class will be led by GCU Exercise Science students who are passionate and knowledgeable about all things exercise and health.

LopeFit is designed to provide a functional workout that gets your heart rate up and educates you about why the exercises you are doing are beneficial.

The workouts will be different each day of the week. The workout below is one example of a functional workout you will find at LopeFit. Sign up for the class on myrec.gcu.edu.

Bible Verse

Now as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside and said to them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn Him to death and will turn Him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day He will be raised to life!" (Matthew 20:17-19)
